Tier 1 & Tier 2 automotive suppliers

Your eyes, ears and expertise inside the OEM.

When a quality or engineering issue lands at the assembly plant, you have hours, not days. Apex Quality Control is already on the floor, representing your company, containing the problem, and driving it to a permanent fix.

Why on-site matters

You can't be at the plant. We already are.

A phone call from the OEM at 6 a.m. shouldn't mean a scramble to get someone in a truck. Apex keeps an experienced quality and engineering representative on the floor so problems are seen, contained, and answered before they reach your customer's scorecard.

  • Immediate containment and sorting decisions made by someone who knows your part and your process.
  • Direct working relationships with OEM quality and engineering teams, built over nearly two decades.
  • Root-cause work that closes the issue for good, so it doesn't come back on the next build.
  • Clear, same-day reporting back to your plant, in English or Spanish.
Our method

Address. Contain. Solve.

Three steps, in that order, every time. Quick fixes stop the line from complaining today. Only the third step keeps it from complaining next month.

STEP 1 · HOURS

Address

We're on the floor when the issue is raised. We see the part, talk to the operator, and give the OEM a named person to work with immediately.

STEP 2 · SAME SHIFT

Contain

Suspect stock is identified and sorted, certified parts are tagged, and a containment plan is agreed with the OEM so production keeps moving.

STEP 3 · FOR GOOD

Solve

Root cause analysis, permanent corrective action, and verification on the line. The 8D gets closed because the problem is gone, not because the paperwork is.

A day on-site

What "already on the floor" looks like.

A typical shift for an Apex representative at an OEM assembly plant.

Walk the line

Check overnight quality alerts, hold areas, and any tagged stock before first shift starts.

Issue raised

OEM quality flags a fitment concern on your part. We're at the station within minutes, not on a plane.

Contain

Suspect lot bracketed, sort started, certified stock tagged. Your plant gets a call with facts, not rumors.

Work the cause

Measurements, photos and process data sent to your engineering team. 8D opened with real evidence.

Report out

Thirty years on the plant floor. Not in an office above it.

John Magre started at Ford Motor Company in Louisville, Kentucky in 1995 and worked production, quality, launch and material handling before founding Apex Quality Control in 2007. He built the company around one belief: suppliers deserve a permanent fix, not a temporary one.

Questions

Clear answers before you call.

What does a quality or engineering representative actually do at the OEM?+

We are your company's presence inside the assembly plant. When the OEM raises an issue on your part, we respond at the station, contain suspect stock, coordinate sorting or rework, and work the root cause with OEM quality and engineering until the corrective action is verified and the issue is closed.

How does Apex represent suppliers at the OEM?+

We attend quality meetings, respond to line calls, manage containment, and report back to your plant the same day. We speak for your company with the credibility that comes from years of working directly with the OEM's people.

What is your experience in the automotive industry?+

Our founder has worked in automotive since 1995, starting at Ford Motor Company in Louisville, across production, quality, launch and material handling. Apex has represented Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers at the OEM since 2007.

Why don't you offer on-call-only service?+

Because problems at the plant don't wait. An on-call representative arrives after the OEM has already made containment decisions without you. Being on-site means we see issues as they happen, know the people involved, and can act in the first hour, which is when the outcome is decided.

What do you wish every supplier knew before working with you?+

That the cheapest issue is the one caught before it leaves the station. A permanent fix costs less than three temporary ones, and a supplier's reputation at the OEM is built in the first response to a problem, not the last.

How do you charge for your services?+

Most clients engage us on an ongoing on-site basis with a straightforward monthly arrangement; launch and project support can be scoped separately. Contact us and we'll put together a proposal for your plant and volume.
